Yona recommended me for a job playing in the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. I was there for 19 years, until 2000. Took off 2 years sabbatical starting work as a software developer. Couldn't take a third year off so left the orchestra for good. Played freelance until 2010 when I finally shut the clarinet case for the last time having played clarinet, Eb and bass clarinet almost everywhere that matters in Israel. Still working as a developer with lots of freelance work as a programmer keeping me busy outside the 9 to 5.
My wife (Miriam Hartman) plays Principal Viola in the Israel Philharmonic. My daughters (Ayelet and Noa) are aged 23 and 18. Ayelet is studying at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Noa is travelling the world deciding what to do with her life. We also have a dog aged 7½. We live in downtown Tel Aviv.
Student of Yona Ettlinger: 1978 - 1981
